De Beer André

Born in Potchefstroom in 1933, Andre de Beer has devoted his life to the contribution of art in every possible way, whether through lecturing, serving as Chairman of the National Art Association of South Africa, or becoming a full time artist in 1983. After completing his studies in Pretoria, Andre served as teacher and later Vice-Rector of the Pretoria College of Education.
Andre is a painter of landscapes, portraits, still life, seascapes, genre and figures. He works in oil, watercolor, ink, pencil, charcoal and pastel.
Andre de Beer is a sought after artist and has been assigned to paint several ministers as well as Karoo landscapes which were given as gifts to international secretariats.
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions from 1960 in SA; 1968 Schweickerdt Gallery, Pretoria, first of eight solo exhibitions held in SA.
