Cilliers-Barnard Bettie

Bettie Barnard was born in Rustenburg in 1914. She studied at University of Pretoria and furthered her studies at the Pretoria Art Centre.
Throughout her life as an artist, Bettie explored with various mediums and switched between non-figurative works and figurative art forms.
Her first one-man exhibition was in 1946 and from thereon in she exhibited in places such as Paris, London and Taiwan.
She was a painter and graphic artist of portraits, still life, genre, figures and abstracts, working in oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, collaged canvas and in various graphic media.
